November 6 ???

Well kids I think that for the first time a rescheduling is necessary.....
I don't know about all of you but I think that rescheduling book club for this month may be a good idea.
I personally have had a really long week and thus have only finished about half of the book.
I really like the book though, and would love to finish it. Can we reschedule for November 6th?
Let me know via blog or email or my cell.

I'm going to take the time to ramble for a moment and send out a mass update to my life while I'm thinking about. Ready? Ok here we go...... Josh and I have joined a community choir here in the chi, which has proven to be a lot of fun but also a bit more challenging than I think either of were really prepared for. The music is cool, the conductor is nice and pretty good. And we're not the only two people under the age of 65 in the choir. Which in case you were wondering is a huge worry in music organizations like this one. Its a mixed group and I think we're going to like it. Our Christmas concert is sometime in either November or December, I can't remember which. You are all invited(expected!) to show your support for the singing fairies at that time. I'll be able to give you more details and the concert gets closer. On a slightly more sad note, my mom has been in the hospital since very early Sunday morning. She was at home, and had stomach pains that were so bad they made her faint. The rushed her to the hospital and have been doing tests ever since. She is ok, which a relief buts its weird to visit my mom in the hospital you know? I think she'll be released either today or tomorrow at the latest. So thats that. Ummm...Oh my boss has officially resigned her position here at the Hard Rock, which means I'm the only person in my dept. at the moment. I will not be assuming the role of Director of HR, due to the fact that I am not qualified and don't really want the job. But as of now, work has been a little busier than normal(yet I still have time to do this!) Ok I'm done. Thanks for reading this.....Hope to see you all soon! Love you, miss you, yada yada yada

Love peace and hair grease!!!!

Happy 1yr Anniversary Kids!!!!!

Asian Theme:

Heres what I was thinking for food......

And I thought we could make two kinds 1 with meat one without. Josh wanted Shrimp so will provide those and probably the chicken as well. I thought that if you wanted each of you guys could choose a vegie and bring that. Maybe some wine. I'm talking like a an $8 or less for wine. Or not at all, whatever really!

Hows that sound? It was technically Michelle's idea and I just ran with it. We have everything like salt and pepper and everything. I think

Spring-Fling Shrimp Stir Fry

2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 pound medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
1/2 pound snow peas, trimmed
1 clove large garlic, peeled and thinly sliced
1 tangerine, juiced
1 lemon, juiced
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground white pepper
2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
3 cups cooked short-grain rice

Asian Vegetable Stir- Fry

1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup prepared stir-fry sauce
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
4 teaspoons peanut or vegetable oil
2 cups small broccoli florets
2 cups small mushrooms
1 small onion, cut into wedges and separated into 1-inch strips
1 medium carrot, cut diagonally into 1/3-inch slices

Combine honey, stir-fry sauce and pepper flakes in small bowl; set aside. Heat oil in wok or large skillet over medium-high heat. Add vegetables; cook and stir vegetables 2 to 3 minutes or until tender. Add honey mixture; cook and stir about 1 minute or until vegetables are glazed and sauce is bubbly. Serve vegetables over steamed rice or noodles.

So email me your thoughts or call me with concerns. I'll see you all there!!!

Happ Birthday Joshy!!!!

Well here we go again........
Another party another weekend not so much money.......It seems like this one was a little late in planning and I have to say its my fault. ( well we'll blame Josh since he never reads these! :) Anyway, Friday night 10pm at 1100 N. Dearborn Apt. 305. Just tell the doorman that you're there to see Josh and all other details we'll handle. We've got the mixers and everyone can bring what they like!! I assume that with the late start everyone will have eaten but we'll get some snacks. So we've got a roof, a view of da Chi and all of you. Sounds like a party to me. Hope to see everyone there and if there are any questions, you all know how to get in touch with me.......Much love peeps

Single Tear!

Well I didn't cry but I was touched and moved to write down a few of my own favorite quotes/song lyrics......Now I can't remember who said these two quotes originally but I have enjoyed pondering them for a few years now......

"Love me when I least deserve it, for that is when I need it the most"

"A friend is someone who knows the song of your heart and can sing it back to you when you have forgotten the words"

The song lyrics are from my favorite band Alkaline Trio and the song is called I'm Dying Tomorrow:

I'm dying tomorrow
This house, this street, Chicago
I'm dying tomorrow
Did I do it right
Did I remember to sleep in
Take lots of pills
Commit irreversible sins
Did I at least try to kiss the prettiest girl
At the right time
Did I remember to keep your beer as full as mine
Did I remember to say cheers
Did I at least try to make sure everybody had a good time
Had the best time
Did I remember to stay up late
Drinking for the fun
Singing for the taste
Did I run outside to kiss the rain
Under electrical skies
I'm dying tomorrow
This house, this street, Chicago
I'm dying tomorrow
Did I do it right?
I know it sounds kind of morbid, but it makes me think you know? If we were to die tomorrow, Did we do it right? I think so, I mean I really believe we're good people, and I don't know about you guys but I always try and make choices that will allow for few regrets later on. Now whether I have suceeded in that only time will be able to tell, which brings us back to Did I do it right?

Thanks for the oppurtunity to share my inane ramblings. Josh gets tired of them after a while I know! Let me know what you guys are up to this weekend....and whether we need to get some buttons together for Mr. Fabulous' birthday.

Ciao!

Not so fabulous recovery

Well kids....recovering from our oh so fabulous parties gets harder and harder as I get older! hehe. Josh is home and I loves his tshirt! I ended up giving him the orange one, and I am down one shirt and several of those essential brain cells! My sincerest apologies Jen, I would say What was I thinking? but thinking was the last thing I was doing at that moment.
Joshy and I will not be able to make out to Ravinia tonight, seeing as how neither of us has had a full nights sleep in the past couple of days. Our plan is to get our lives in order for the next few days. We will definitely see you all on Saturday though. I'm done babbling for now, have fun at Ravinia, thanks for the fun times this weekend, and I love you all.

Lovin it!

Whats groovin kids?
Bobby I do ike the the logo. Thanks again for taking such an initiative with this club of ours. I think G-spot had a good point with some type of character, or maybe a skyline shot! You are much more creative than me, but those were some thoughts. Tomorrow Saturday is my last day as a bellhop. Yay! Then I have the 3rd through the 7th off from work, go in on Friday the 8th and have the 9th and 10th off as well. So I think I will be spending time in the burbs if you all will have me. Its starting to get a little lonely in the chi I have to admit.
I'll have my tshirt by the next time I see you all. Also, I haven't started our new book but I am reading The Devil in the White City, which Joshy suggested. Its really interesting, and it takes place in Chi town during the World's Fair. Any hoo have a day.

This thing is awesome!

Well G-spot I think a different night would be fine with me. Most of us have to work on Mondays anyway, so I guess its no different if its during the week. Is everyone aware of this Blog? No way to know really. Any date works for me just lemme.
